- Troubleshoot, repair, and replace malfunction equipment on a wide variety of assets as assigned by Supervisor
- Perform preventative maintenance activities as assigned.
- Test, calibrate and repair various types of instrumentation and electrical equipment
- Maintain records and reports documenting work activities.
- Provide regular and timely updates on all assigned work scopes.
- Establish and maintain high standards of excellence, communicating frequently and openly,
- Provide mentorship, knowledge, and experience to Apprentice ICE Technicians.
Qualifications - External
The essentials
- Journeyman Instrumentation Technician or Journeyman Electrician with verifiable training and experience
- Previous utility or industrial experience
- Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license
- Able to drive, traverse on uneven surfaces, lift up to 75 lbs., sit/stand for extended periods of time, work in various weather conditions, and possibly be in remote regions (coast, desert, and mountain) for extended periods of time.
The preferred
- Previous experience in power generation facilities
- Experience on GE Frame 7FA generators
- Experience on GE LM6000 generators
- Demonstrated experience working combined cycle generation facilities
- Qualified high voltage electrical worker
- Demonstrated experience utilizing Emerson Ovation, GE Mark VI E, and Micro Logix control systems
- Demonstrated experience working on Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS)
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SAP

- This position’s work mode is on-site. The employee will report to an SCE facility or in the field location. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.

- The primary work location for this position is Mountainview Generation Station in Redlands, however, the successful candidate will be assigned to work for an extended amount of time at various other facilities owned and operated by the SCE Generation Division
- Position will require up to 50% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
- Relocation may apply to this position.
- This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
Testing
- This position requires testing and applicants who are identified to continue through the selection process will be invited to test via email. Reference our Information Guides, for the following test(s): 2178, and 5105. Candidates who have previously passed these assessment(s), in some cases, may not need to retest again for this position.
