Paralegal
Salary Hourly $25-$30

Small Boutique Law Firm in Las Vegas, NV (Henderson Area) has an immediate opening for an experienced real estate and business paralegal with excellent knowledge of State and Federal Court filing systems and local rules and standards, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, procedures, etc. Additionally, the candidate must fit in with the existing tight-knit culture of a team of 3. The candidate will work closely with and report to a senior paralegal.
This is a full-time position with billable requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Paralegal certification is preferred but not required
- 5+ years of paralegal experience in a law firm
- Experience in both business and real estate matters
- Experience in both transactional and litigation
- Skilled in litigation, particularly e-discovery
- Experience with all aspects of the real estate closing process is preferred but not required
Responsibilities:
- File online case documents via Odyssey and Pacer; Clark County Recorder via Simplifile; Business formations via Silverflume for SOS
- Litigation: Assist legal counsel and senior paralegal with drafting/redlining changes to correspondence and documents, including proofing and filing complaints, motions, discovery, pleadings, responses, and other filings
- Issuing subpoenas, coordinating depositions, and handling initial and supplemental disclosures
- Conduct research on a wide range of factual and legal issues, gather evidence and summarize discovery in litigated matters
- Transactional real estate work: Initial Drafts of all business and real estate documents leasing, residential, commercial, licensing complaints, landlord/tenant, purchase and sale agreements
- Business documents: LLC formation, buy sell, C-Corp, operating agreements
- Maintaining client and document database
- Coordinate multiple office functions: maintaining motion/pleading deadlines, calendaring, and scheduling court-reporters, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations.
- Circulate documents to the involved parties/outside counsels for review or comment
- Assist with office duties (answering phones, assisting clients, etc.)
