Now hiring Laborers, Equipment Operators and CDL Drivers
Summary
The Road Crews are comprised of laborers, operators and drivers. They are vital in the overall operation of the Pavement Preservation Team. Crew Members perform the tasks necessary for the day-to-day operations and application of products. Entry level applicants are encouraged to apply, on the job training is provided.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Flagging and general labor as needed
- Operates construction and/or power equipment for use in asphalt paving
- Loading, hauling, and unloading of various equipment, materials, and supplies
- Performs routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or repairs to the supervisor
- Cleans equipment
- Follow all safety policies and practices
- All other duties as assigned
Work Environment
Work sites are outdoors and may require that work be done in adverse weather conditions. This position requires its responsibilities to be performed in potentially hazardous traffic conditions. Work conditions may involve exposure to hot materials, chemicals, fumes, dust, odors, gases, and other substances used in a construction environment.
Skills and Education - Required
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
- DOT Med Card (Or ability to get one prior to start date, our cost)
- DOT Flagger Training Certificate (Or ability to get one prior to start date, our cost)
- Aptitude for learning new tasks and skills
- A Safety First mindset
- Customer and team oriented – show a willingness to help others
- Desire to exceed the normal work ethic
Job Requirements
- Ability to work in a team environment with other crew members, as well as the ability to work independently without close supervision
- Must be available for overnight travel at job sites
- Must be able to work overtime and have a willingness to be flexible in scheduling
- Ability to work varied shifts and long hours during peak operation times (spring, summer and fall)
- Ability to safely lift at least 50 pounds and recognize unsafe operating conditions
- Ability to perform work which requires frequent and regular movement of wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- Ability to perform work which requires frequent and regular walking and standing
- Ability to see, hear, talk, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity
