Founded in 2002, POM has handled more than 2,000 site installations, primarily focused on large offices, retail, hospitality, health care, education, and real estate (commercial, luxury residential and hi-rise).
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide monthly buy savings, material reconciliation and other purchasing reports.
- Liaise with Project Managers to plan and order equipment based on supply chain delays.
- Ensure adequate order levels are maintained for service stock.
- Manage purchasing department and recommend updates to processes that would be beneficial.
- Responsible for creating purchase orders from job estimates
- Negotiate with vendors for the best possible price and delivery date of the parts needed for projects.
- Develop new supply sources where vendors are inadequate.
- Track the purchases to meet installation schedules. Expedite orders as needed.
- Receive and ensure proper material arrival, and trace delinquent arrivals of purchase orders.
- Maintain records of materials ordered, received and issued.
- Resolve discrepancies, manage Return Authorizations, obtains credits and refunds in a timely manner.
- Manage stock room, vehicle and equipment inventories
- Issue equipment for installations and adjust material inventory accordingly
- Reconcile Packing Lists, Purchase Orders and Vendor Invoices
- Deliver materials to job sites and have materials returned (if necessary) to vendors from job sites.
- Ensure equipment is delivered to job sites, check and provide feedback to vendors with regards to any damaged items.
Desired Skills Required
- Thorough working knowledge of purchasing policies, processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of warehouse and inventory control policies and procedures.
- Extensive knowledge and ability to negotiate best vendor terms, pricing and delivery based on specific budget and schedule requirements.
- Proficient with computer skills, QuickBooks, MS Word and Excel.
- Negotiating skills.
- Organizational skills for efficient office control are mandatory.
- Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts.
- HS graduate. College education with focus in business studies and / or equivalent work experience.
- Preferable 5 years purchasing experience in related industry.
- Reliable, responsible, dependable and fulfilling obligations.
- Driver's License required.
