Folder-Gluer Operator

Job Summary: Responsible for the set-up, operation and maintaining of the folder gluer equipment. Coordinate and work with the supervisor to complete product to customer specifications. Continually strives to be effective in set up and run times, trains others in production techniques.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Operate, set-up, maintain folding and gluing machines required to complete box and carton product per customer specification.
- Installs the appropriate tools, swords, and folding devices to achieve the required folding and pre-break for the carton.
- Determines the proper placement of the glue system(s) to achieve the correct final setup and function.
- Adjusts controls to regulate placement and timing of electronic glue systems.
- Continually monitors the quality of your production while ensuring your feeder and packers are performing their tasks as required. Read, comprehend and follow all specifications on job ticket
- Match samples by reading job ticket specifications
- Record production information such as the amount of time spent on specific tasks
- Open machines and remove/replace a damaged products, using hand tools
- Troubleshoot problems to maintain quality standards and to keep equipment in running condition.
- Clean and maintain equipment as assigned by Supervisor.
- Performs hand stripping, blanking, folding, taping, boxing, collating, and other manual tasks.
- Runs strip taper, guillotine, punch press, auto blanker.
- Cleans and keeps work area neat and orderly.
- Tracks tasks, quantities and scrap.
- Accounts for all time on paperwork and computer.
- Performs other duties as requested.
Job Requirements: Excellent basic skills of reading and understanding written instruction, general math, clear hand writing. Hand and eye coordination. Continual walking, standing, bending, repetitive movements for extended periods of time. Pass required physical and drug test. Able to work overtime as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Fluent in English. Experienced in mechanical or print related field. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift and carry 50lbs; pass a physical including drug testing.
