Mobility City Technicians deliver, repair and setup mobility equipment in customers’ home. Technicians also instruct customers in the use of equipment. Technicians may also remove used or damaged equipment.
Essential Functions/Primary Responsibilities: - Deliver Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and supplies to customers home and perform install/setup up tasks
- Instruct customer on proper use of equipment
- Evaluate malfunctioning/broken equipment and recommend a repair/solution. Document the repair and solution. If additional arts are needed beyond initial service call, document as needed.
- Install new/repaired parts to restore equipment to proper safe, working order
- Read and understand the service call requirements (e.g., Location, obstacles/challenges to install setup, payor information, etc.) prior to arrival
- Ensure home environment/space is safe for delivery, install and use of equipment
- Obtain signature from customer on delivery/install paperwork
- Pick up and remove equipment from customers’ residence if requested. Generally, as part of the service call
- Clean and sanitize equipment in accordance with Mobility City policy and guidelines.
- Comply with all federal, state and local laws, regulations and ordinances that apply to you and Mobility City
Other Duties and Responsibilities: - Participate in continuing education/training in-services relative to products that Mobility City sells, delivers and services.

- Current valid driver’s license
- Pass criminal background check
- 6 months of experience repairing, delivering and installing DME equipment in personal residences (single-family home, apartment, assisted living/nursing home, etc.
Preferred:
- Previous manufacturer’s training and certification in products sold and serviced by Mobility City
Skills Required: - Analytical ability to diagnose/troubleshoot problems with mobility equipment, frequently in the absence of guidelines or technical assistance. Evaluate moderate to complex electrical components/systems and determine cause of issue and determine solution.
- Communication and interpersonal skills for frequent contact with customers as well as stakeholders external to Mobility City. Ability to persuade or negotiate on a wide range of subjects in situations which may be controversial, sensitive and/or lead to confrontation. A mastery of a variety of communication modalities is required to include leading diagnosis, making formal recommendations for repairs/solutions, and reading/interpreting/complex documents.
- Project/task management skills including the ability to define program, project, or process/repair objectives. Identify customers/stakeholders and their needs and plan/coordinate delivery/repair steps, coordinate and allocate technical and fiscal resources to accomplish goals and objectives in a resourceful yet timely manner.
- Leadership skills including demonstrated willingness to pursue opportunities/roles with increasing levels of accountability. Comfort with decision-making responsibilities, coaching and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others (including customers and stakeholders).
- High level of technical knowledge of how mobility equipment works and troubleshooting techniques for efficient resolution of problems. Comprehensive knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and guidelines relative to mobility w.
- Proficiency in the use of personal computers, demonstrated competence with word processing, data base and spreadsheet software.
