Electronics Technician

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
The Electronics Technician participates in the maintenance, repair, and operation of complex
underwater search and recovery systems, and subsystems. The technician is required to work in a team environment and handle assignments independently. This position is located in Largo, MD and reports to the Senior Technician.
CLASSIFICATION: NON-EXEMPT (HOURLY)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operates, maintains, and repairs complex search (Side Scan Sonar, Towed Pinger
Locators) (TPLs) and recovery (Remotely Operated Vehicle) (ROV) as well as Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) systems in ready for issue (RFI) condition in onshore and offshore environments.
- Sets up, integrates, operates, and troubleshoots surface and subsurface positioning
- Maintains logs, records, and documentation
- Processes raw data into finished data and interprets the resultant
- Pilots and copilots ROVs and operates ROV
- Meets all watch standing requirements of search, AUV, and ROV
- Assists in developing search and recovery
- Complies with company policies and safety
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Two-year associate’s degree of formal electronic-training or four years of equivalent work
- Two years of field experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing sophisticated electronic systems, e. computers, microprocessors, A/D, D/A converters, CCTV, HD video, sonar, and control circuits to the board level.
- Ability to solder through-hole and surface-mount components down to SOIC and 0805 size
- Familiarity with and able to troubleshoot high voltage generation, control, and switching
- Familiarity with automation hardware, software, and
- Knowledge of network architecture, including subnets, security, TCP/IP, and UDP
- Knowledge of digital and analog
- Knowledge of fiber
- Understanding of the use of test equipment e. oscilloscopes, electrical and optical TDRs high voltage meggers, logic and frequency analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and network monitors.

- Computer competence in Microsoft Office and Windows
- Ability to carry out tests and assignments with little to no
- Team player with attention to detail and good organizational skills.
- Understanding of offshore rigging and safety
- Ability to obtain a S. Government security clearance.
- Ability to travel worldwide, on short notice, for indefinite periods of
- Ability to work safely in the facility and on ships at
- Ability to walk unassisted and carry 75 pounds.
