Job for Veteran in San Jose, California:
Structural Steel Operations Manager
-
YOU:
- You’re the clear expert for all that is Structural Steel. Yet as much as you’re known for your encyclopedic steel knowledge, you’re equally well known for your hands-on problem solving abilities–both on a drawing or in the field.
- Structural Steel is your sweet spot. You love the work you do. You like being recognized and rewarded for leading and being a critical part of the team.
- You’re at home both in the field and in the shop. If you had to choose between the two, you’d be hard pressed to choose a clear favorite since you enjoy the variety it provides.
- You’re goal and deadline driven, and some who know you would say disturbed (and slightly perturbed) when tasks/projects/initiatives are not completed on time. You are known for telling others the truth about deadlines (instead of what they hope to hear).
- You’re personally highly disciplined and take your job seriously, but it’s not all about you.
- You are a respected member of the team who enjoys getting the most out of the other team members to meet goals, deadlines and budgets, and grow the company’s already excellent reputation. You know that no man/woman is an island, and that you must all pull together in your team to Make It Happen. - Custom Solutions. There’s never a problem for which you can’t come up with at least one or two viable solutions, and you are ultimately responsible for inventing, getting buy-off on, and implementing custom solutions to unique problems.
- On-Time/On Budget. Drives for on-time, on-budget projects in the face of unknowns and extreme time and budget pressure.
- Effective and Efficient Relationships. Maintains effective and efficient relationships with all those within the project.
