Job Summary:
The Production Associate in Assembly is responsible for manually assembling products according to specifications. This position is focused on industrial assembly with parts that can exceed weights greater than 35 pounds. This is a first shift position 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Part-time workers would be considered based on experience.
Essential Functions:
- Build assemblies to print specifications to meet required due dates adhering to all ISO 9001 regulations and guidelines.
- Receive and document receipt of component parts i.e., screw, stem cover, housing tube, actuator tube and boot to work cell.
- Maintain clean and safe work environment.
Non-Essential Functions:
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or GED
Experience: One to six months experience or related training.
Specific Skills:Interpret and understand verbal and written directions. Ability to interact in a team environment to complete a variety of tasks.
Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc:
- Must be able to read and interpret blue prints.
- Mechanically inclined with good math skills.
- Use basic measuring devices, including tape measure, micrometers and calipers.
- Operate power shop equipment.
- Previous experience in mechanical assembly is a plus.
- Manual dexterity assembling small and large parts.
- Use of overhead crane experience is a plus.
Working Conditions/ Physical Demands:
- Normal production environment. Frequently required to stand, walk and sit and occasionally required to stoop, kneel, and crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Time spent on mechanical assembly 75%. HPLV painting 10%, and about 5% of time is using air tools, impacts, drills, and grinders. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted. Frequent exposure to paint solvents, adhesives, thread lockers, epoxies, paints, sealants, metal dust, metal shavings, metal chips, lubricants and greases.
Success Factors:
The ability to assure assemblies are correct to print and all specifications have been met regarding the assembled product.
