Senior Human Resources Generalist

We are searching for an experienced Senior Human Resources Generalist as a full-time Regular Employee to join the Reedy Creek Improvement District!

 

Position Summary:
Perform duties to administer and direct the talent acquisition and training and development programs and participate in any range of other HR Generalist activities, including wellness, compensation, employee and labor relations and HRIS guided by precedent and working within the limits of established policies.

Essential Functions:

  • Discuss personnel needs with managers and create recruitment strategy to meet business needs. Create and place job postings in outlets appropriate to the position. Build and maintain relationships with and utilize service of select employment agencies.
  • Source candidates for open positions. Review job duties and responsibilities, compensation and benefits, work schedules and working conditions, policies and other information related to a candidate’s employment.
  • Assist management in offer negotiations. Oversee the employment offer process.
  • Oversee the new hire onboarding process. Work with the HR Associate to ensure proper paperwork and background screenings are complete and pre-employment physicals are scheduled.
  • Facilitate the District’s orientation program.
  • Provide support for new hires to obtain ID cards, access to buildings and computers, workstation and computer, uniforms, nametags, and system access. Direct and provide oversight to HR Associate for entering employee data information into HRIS system.
  • Work with HR Generalist to support benefits and wellness initiatives.
  • Delivers Learning and Development programs in collaboration with key stakeholders associating with the District’s values and operating philosophies.
  • Coordinates quality learning content, materials and resources (including e-learning).
  • Assists with utilization of learning management systems such as Fred Pryor and Cornerstone.
  • Provide support to other activities of the department as needed including benefits enrollment, customer support, safety, employee relations and special events.

Other Duties:

  • Perform or assist with any HR operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements.
  • Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, and policies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrate general knowledge of many aspects of the Human Resource discipline, to include talent acquisition and employee retention, training and development, benefits administration, and employee relations.
  • Demonstrate Human Resource Generalist experience with the ability to use independent judgement to ensure intended business results are achieved, including timeliness and quality.
  • Proven accountability for results in a performance management environment.
  • Strong understanding of business processes and protocols; experience in the government sector is helpful.
  • Demonstrated results in working in a high integrity team environment.
  • Demonstrate experience maintaining exceptional relationships with key internal and external partied through collaboration.
  • Strong sense of urgency and focus in execution; including problem-solving orientation, action orientated, and collaborative in decision-making.
  • A customer centric mentality with an emphasis on performance excellence; solution orientation.
  • Ability to react and adjust quickly to changing environments.
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to explain benefit policies.
  • Strong working knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Has knowledge of and will maintain compliance with state and federal regulations related to employment and benefits.
  • Have a working knowledge of all Human Resources functions to provide assistance as needed.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, or similar discipline.
  • Human Resource certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is helpful.
  • Seven+ years of Human Resources experience, with at least two years of experience directly in recruitment, preferred.
  • Regular, dependable attendance required.

Driving Requirements:
Must possess a valid Florida State Driver's license and maintain eligibility under the District's commercial vehicle program.

Physical Demands: 
While engaging in the duties of this position the Employee performs lifting and/or carrying of up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 10 lbs. frequently. Employee sits constantly. Employee stands and walks occasionally. Employee occasionally bends/stoops/crouches and pushes/pulls. Employee uses their hand(s)/arm(s) to reach in any direction and seize, grasp, hold and turn object using hand(s). Employee uses fingers, versus whole hand, to pick, pinch and feel objects. Employee sees, talk and hear as they communicate with others in person, electronically or by phone.

Employee will operate motor vehicle(s) that involve the use of hand/foot controls.

 

The wage range for this position is $83,842.00 - 111,789.00 annually.
