Fire Alarm Technician - Experienced

Fire Alarm Inspector and Service Technician

Location: Novi, MI

Department: Fire Alarm

Status: Full-Time

Qualified candidates for the fire alarm inspector and service position will perform fire alarm inspections, service and installations on fire alarm and special hazard systems.

Fire Systems of Michigan, LLC, is a leader in the industry for providing fire protection services to the Southeast Michigan area for over 30 years. Fire Systems of Michigan is based in Novi, MI and has an excellent team of 40+ employees that are responsible for the inspection and service of fire alarms, sprinkler systems, kitchen fire suppression systems, and fire extinguishers. Fire Systems of Michigan has an extensive customer base with over 4,000 fire systems that we perform recurring inspection and repair services. The company is continually growing through its internal sales and marketing activities, strong reputation and business acquisitions.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, service and install commercial fire alarm systems.
  • Test devices such as smoke detectors, pull station, heat detectors, horn/strobes and other devices as required.
  • Verify fire alarm works and functions properly, test signals into the monitoring station, load test batteries, perform sensitivity of smoke detectors and other functions as required.
  • Replace defective components as necessary.
  • Communicate with customers on status and deficiencies in a professional manner.
  • Accurately document work performed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Nicet Level 2, Detroit Fitness, and Michigan Fire Alarm Specialty Tech Licenses desired
  • Have strong knowledge of inspections and NFPA 72 requirements.
  • Detail orientated.
  • Must be available to be on call.
  • Have a good driving record.
  • Be independent.
  • Be able to travel with possible overnight stay(s).
  • Ability to work well with others on a large inspection.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stand for long periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
