Position Description: Landscape Technician Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Qualifications
• Current driver’s license, insurable driving record, and maintain good driving record
• High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred
• Must be able to multi-task and juggle tasks as priority demands
• Must be able to work as a team member in harmony with and support of other Association staff
Summary
Under the direction and supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Tech acts to maintain an appropriate standard of maintenance and upkeep of common areas including turf, landscape perennials, shrubs and trees, landscape bed materials, related equipment, etc.
Responsibilities & Duties
1. Maintain as appropriate areas to include
o turf: cutting; trimming; blowing
o turf: fertilizing and weed control
o landscaping materials: fertilize, trim as needed for a natural look; mulch
o trees: trim for safety reasons
2. Purchase supplies and materials as authorized
3. Maintain safety rules regarding all activities including storage and use of chemicals
4. Must have broad knowledge in minor vehicle repair, brake replacement, oil changes, hose replacement, etc.
5. Work with Maintenance Manager to create and maintain preventive schedules wherever possible, e.g., weed prevention
6. Maintain asphalt and concrete basketball and tennis courts, sidewalks, driveways and parking lots in a weed-free condition
7. Maintain irrigation system for optimum operations, troubleshooting and making repairs whenever possible before contracting out repairs
8. Perform periodic maintenance on tractors, lawn mowing and blowing, equipment, etc.
9. Maintain the maintenance buildings, equipment, and vehicle in an organized and clean manner
10. Maintain supplies, stored materials, tools, and supplies in an organized and clean manner
11. Report to the Maintenance Manager, problems or deficiencies which may require repair or maintenance
12. Undertake other duties and responsibilities and performs such tasks as may be assigned
Work Hours
Normal working hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Salary $12.00 - $14.00 depending upon experience
