Jireh Semiconductor, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Alpha and Omega Semiconductor Ltd., is the in-house wafer fab for AOS and is located in Hillsboro, Oregon.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Facilities Team is looking for a second Electrical Engineer. This ideal candidate will collaborate and integrate with the existing team to facilitate electrical design, construction, and sustaining efforts.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
ENGINEERING DESIGN and INSTALLATION of power distribution systems, and monitor controls at a semiconductor manufacturing facility |

DESIGN, INSTALLATION, and MAINTENANCE of Fire/Life/Safety systems, PLCs, Facility Management Systems (SCADA) |
|
THEORETICAL ANALYSIS Perform detailed numerical and logical analysis of proposed construction options, utility proposals, risk management opportunities, and safety and environmental issues |
|
PROJECT MGMT of capital improvement and equipment repair/maintenance projects from inception through design installation and commissioning |
|
BUDGET estimating and oversight for electrical and fire/life/safety projects |
|
FIT-UP experience at a semiconductor manufacturing facility |
|
TECHNICAL SUPPORT to Production and Maintenance departments.
Experience interfacing across functions to help troubleshoot potential electrical or control issues. |
|
REDUCE COSTS Develop cost cutting measures for both operational and maintenance expenses |
|
EXPERIENCE WITH LOCAL BUSINESSES that can refurbish and test breakers.
Experience keeping up 17 year old electrical systems. |

INSPECTION and TEST new and existing installations for conformance to operational and safety standards |
|
OPERATE AND COORDINATE MAINTENANCE of equipment such as: Industrial medium voltage power transmission, Power generation, Power system stability, Power Distribution Systems, and Power panels. |

OPERATE AND COORDINATE MAINTENANCE of Uninterrupted power systems |
|
FIELD STUDIES to identify and correct power system issues. Inspect existing installations for compliance to current codes and standards |

FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
Improve system/equipment reliability and safety through |

PREJOB PLANNING experience (operational what, how, who, and sequence of operations) |
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT Regularly required to sit or stand and move around the facility and in class 100 clean room. The ability to face technical challenge and high pressure in mass production line.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering |
Minimum of five years direct experience in facility dept as an electrical engineer |
Fire/life/safety system experience |
Construction project management experience |
Electrical design engineering experience |
Proven record of tracking and following projects and presenting summary and detailed project timelines |
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing with excellent presentation skills |
Must have working knowledge of NEC and wiring codes |
Must have a working knowledge of PLCs and motor controls (ability to program PLCs is a plus) |
Working knowledge of AutoCAD or equivalent is a plus |
Must have good judgment, ability to work independently self-motivated and safety conscious |
Experience in Facility Management Systems (SCADA) is a preferred |
Exposure to semiconductor mfg environ is preferred |
State of Oregon electrical PE licensing is preferred |
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong ownership and passion for success
- Ability to work with people one on one and in a team environment
- DOE and Statistical Data analysis skills is a plus
- Demonstrated model based problem solving skills in work area is a plus
- Experience with MS Word, Excel, Power-point, AutoCAD, and other computer skills a plus
