Are you a numerically inclined, innovative thinker with a passion for producing high quality products through sound processes? The Quality Engineering (QE) Technician will be an integral part in maintaining the overall quality and reliability of our spas through the testing, inspection and troubleshooting of products at various stages of first article and the production process.
Is This You?
- Are you quality-minded? You will select and test products for aspects such as dimensions, performance, mechanical, electrical or chemical characteristics. You’ll also perform destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts or products to measure performance, life or material characteristics that help us ensure that we are manufacturing top quality products.
- Can you analyze data? You will compile and evaluate statistical data to determine and maintain the integrity of our products. From this data, you’ll work with engineers to identify trends using various analytic tools.
- Can you draw conclusions? You will record test data and apply statistical quality control procedures, making recommendations to the senior quality engineer for quality improvements through changes in product or test methodology. You will also evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
- Can you interpret drawings? You will need to read drawings (blueprints), schematic diagrams or formulas and confer directly with senior engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards. You’ll also make recommendations for drawing/specification changes with Design Engineers.
- Are you organized and detail-oriented? You will put your skills to use as a key contributor to the first article inspection process. You’ll interact directly with the new product introduction team members on the status of first articles, identifying issues and providing potential solutions.
- Have you worked with manufacturing systems? You will primarily work within our Navision Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tool to update inspection code status of incoming parts.
What You Need
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); minimum of 3 years related experience and/or training related to this position is required. The equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Proficiency using MS Office applications such as Word, Excel and Access.
- Ability to pass a basic blueprint knowledge test and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
- Must be able to prepare reports, worksheets, charts, schedules, procedures, and other data as necessary. Experience working in an ERP system is helpful.
- Must have strong organization skills, be detail-oriented and able to present information to a group of co-workers, supervisors, managers or higher-level executives.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels within the organization.
- Strong ability to work in a team environment.
