Automation Controls Technician (Evans, CO)

In this critical role, you will be responsible for performing several tasks related to oil & gas wellhead automation. Candidates perform trouble-shooting tasks and must have an understanding of RTU program ladder logic, a working understanding of oil & gas RTU applications, and able to perform RTU configurations. Duties include ABB TotalFlow RTU programming, equipment calibrations, troubleshooting, repairs, tank measurements, H20 measurements, radio installations, antenna adjustments, and other communication duties. Technicians must be customer-oriented and maintain excellent relationships and service to existing customers. May provide technical product support to customers and company employees. Candidates need to be able to work alone, be reliable, hard-working, and be adaptable to different working environments, including extreme weather environments.
Qualifications
- 1+ years experience with PLC/RTU Instrumentation & Controls.
- Strong computer experience. Programming experience is a plus.
- Experience in creating and reading logic and flow diagrams is a plus.
- Previous experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Able to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and blue print schematics.
- Valid driver's license and good MVR.
- Able to speak, write, and read the English language.
Position Duties
- Prepare, install, and provide service maintenance on all company products at client sites, which may include equipment calibrations, troubleshooting, radio installations, instrument and controls programming, performing low-voltage electrical wiring, tank and H20 measurement, antenna adjustments, and other communication duties.
- Keep accurate records of all hours logged, inventory parts used, and services performed.
- Perform wiring of components.
- Able to perform in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Perform PLC/RTU troubleshooting, using the ABB Totalflow products.
- Must be able to drive by company vehicle as needed to several client sites within territory.
- Create documentation and forms for customers and Company personnel as needed.
- Mentor and train Company employees and customers.
- Maintain strong customer relations.
- Must be able to work alone in remote areas.
